Thinking about
quitting? Let's yap.

Hi, I'm Shagufta. 3+ years sober, based in Mumbai, and honestly still the same jolly loud person I always was. No pledges, no lectures, no fees. Just one very real conversation over chai — whenever you're ready.

This page is for you if…

You don't have to hit rock bottom to deserve a conversation. Most people who message me are just… quietly tired.

01

You keep saying "kal se pakka"

Every Monday is the new Monday. You're not weak — you just haven't had anyone to be honest with about it.

02

You're worried about someone you love

Partner, parent, sibling, friend. You want to help without starting World War 3 at dinner. We can talk about that too.

03

You've stopped, and now it's boring

Day 40 and the shine has worn off. Staying sober is a different skill from getting sober. Let's yap about that one.

What you can
actually get

Price: ₹0. Always.

Free intro yap

20–30 minutes, phone or video, camera off if you like. You talk, I listen, we figure out whether this is even the right thing for you. No forms first.

Ongoing

1:1 sobriety coaching

Regular calls at a rhythm that suits you — weekly, fortnightly, or "SOS, there's a wedding on Saturday". Real strategies for real Indian social pressure.

For teams

Workplace workshops

An honest, funny, non-preachy session for your company about drinking culture, offsites, and how to look out for each other. Also free.

I'm not a doctor or a de-addiction centre, and I don't pretend to be. If you need medical detox or clinical care, I'll say so honestly and help you find it.

Count your days

Pick the last day you drank. Nobody sees this but you — it stays on your phone. Screenshot it, send it to me, I'll be insufferably proud.

Patel

Three-plus years sober, living in Mumbai, and — fair warning — extremely chatty. I did not become a serious, whispery wellness person when I quit. I'm still the loudest one at the table. I just hold a chai now.

I do this for free because somebody once picked up the phone for me. That's the whole business model. No packages, no upsell, no "book my masterclass". Just a person who's been there, with time to give.

People who yapped

Names withheld, obviously.

"I expected a lecture. I got someone laughing with me about how bad my excuses were. First honest conversation I'd had in years."

— M., 34, Mumbai

"I called about my husband, not myself. She never once made me feel like I was betraying him by asking for help."

— Anonymous, Pune

"Day 200 today. The trick was having someone to text at 11pm on a Friday who wouldn't say 'arre, ek toh chalta hai'."

— R., 41, Bengaluru

Questions you're
too polite to ask

Is it really free?

Yes. Zero rupees, no hidden package, no 'first one's free'. I'm not building a business here — I'm paying back a favour that was done for me.

Do I have to say I'm an alcoholic?

No labels required. You never have to call yourself anything. We just talk about what's actually happening in your life.

Will anyone find out?

No. What you tell me stays with me. I don't keep files, I don't post about clients, and I won't message you unless you message first.

I'm not sure I even have a problem.

That's the most common opening line I get. If it's on your mind enough to be reading this, it's worth one conversation.

Can I call about someone else?

Absolutely. Families and partners get half my calls. We'll talk about how to bring it up without it turning into a fight.

Are you a therapist or a rehab?

Neither. I'm someone who's been sober 3+ years and knows the terrain. For medical detox or clinical treatment I'll point you to real professionals — honestly and quickly.

If it's an emergency, don't wait for me

I'm one person with a phone. These are staffed, free, and confidential. Please use them if you or someone else is in danger.

One message. That's the whole first step.

You don't need a speech ready. "Hi" is enough. I usually reply the same day.
